  1. Hello Allison,

I was reading your master’s thesis on DM/T (Emotion, Embodiment, and Mirror Neurons in Dance/Movement Therapy: A Connection Across Disciplines) to include some of your findings in my forthcoming book and would really like to connect with you! I recently did a short blog on DM/T:

My contact info is on my website (I reside in Vienna, VA).

    Sincerely,
    John Serpa

    • Hi John. Thank you for your interest in my work. What is your book about? How would you like to incorporate my research into your book? I’d like to learn more about your project. Look forward to hearing from you.

      Allison

  2. Dear Allison,

I’m a young dancer and psychology student who aspires to be a DMT. I would like to connect with you to get your advice on a project involving dance and emotions I will be doing, as well as see if you can recommend places I can volunteer at to get exposure to dance therapy. I am particularly interested in DMT and resilience from stress and trauma, and when I researched the ADTA your name came up.

Is this the best way to contact me? If not, you should have my e-mail via this form.

Take care. I look forward to speaking with you.
    -Rocky

  3. I would aslo like to learn more about becoming a DMT. Could I please set up an appointment with you? I am a newly licensed MFT.
    Thank you,
    Gianna

    • Hi Gianna. I’d be happy to set up an appointment with you. You can message me privately on my Facebook page “Dancing Yoga Mama” and we can schedule something from there. Good to hear from you!

      Allison

  4. Dear Allison,

I am a dance student, studying in the UK. I am in the process of conducting some research on DMT and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder for a project. I am very much interested in the work that you do with veterans and military personnel, and I wandered if it would be possible for me to ask you a few questions about your practice?
Let me know if this is possible and what is the best way to get in contact.
    Thank you for your time,
    Kind regards

    Keren

  5. Hello, I am currently a dancer and a Mental Health Counseling Masters student. I am interested in researching about dance therapy and the benefits for military personnel. I see you wrote/presented a paper in 2011 called War Dance: Dance Therapy With US Military Across The Generations. If possible, I would love to access this paper and/or discuss further with you about your experiences and research.

    • Hi Lauren. Thanks for your interest. The presentation that you are referring to was a PowerPoint full of mostly video, photographs, and testimonials. I can’t share most of it with you for privacy reasons, but if you are still interested in the outline let me know and I can get that to you.

I also have a clinical practice sheet on DMT with Veterans that might be of interest to you. Also, feel free to check out the ADTA Talk – Dance/Movement Therapy with Veterans and Military Personnel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZY-acANeZ8

      Hope this helps!

      Allison

  6. Greetings, Allison.

My name is Amanda. I’m a graduate student at the University of Florida studying Arts in Medicine. Our assignment this week is to interview a movement/dance therapist. I am interested in knowing more about your work. Please let me know if you’d be interested.

    Thanks for your time,
    Amanda

  7. Hi Allison,

I am a dance/movement therapy student in my second year at Lesley University in Cambridge, Ma. I am doing a special populations project about dance/movement therapy and military personnel/veterans. I had been reseraching information and have recently watched your ADTA talk.
I was hoping that you would have some time to answer a few questions that i could share in my supervision cohort. If you are available I would like to set up a time to ask or send you some questions that would assist in gaining some additional information about this population. I look forward to hearing about your work!

    Thank you in advance,

    Erica Gagne

    Dance/Movement Therapy Student
